Establishing your own company can be, and often is, challenging as I discovered when I decided to form a Business Travel Management consultancy company in June 2007 after having worked for the same global financial organisation for 40 years.
After an exhaustive internet search “googleling” accountants, I decided to arrange a meeting with Geoff Miles at Hammonds. Even after the level of research I undertook, I was still unsure if I had made the correct, initial choice.
From that very first conversation, the challenges I had envisaged became less daunting as Geoff listened to and understood what I was looking to achieve and then explained the options available to me.
Pilcher Associates Limited was formed and incorporated on 2 July 2007 with Hammonds completing all the necessary paperwork including HM Revenue & Customs VAT registration. Hammonds continue to work with me with consummate ease even though I moved from Beckenham to Glasgow in July 2009! Hammonds also manage my personal self-assessment tax returns and, by doing so, take away any personal stress surrounding my tax liability on income, dividends and capital gains.
