Business start-ups and new ventures – we are here for you

Life as we know it has made a 180-degree turn in recent weeks with many office teams continuing to self-isolate and leave their office empty.  Many teams, like us, are continuing to operate as normal from the comfort of their homes, and we want to reassure our clients (and prospective clients) that it is business as usual here at Hammonds.

For others, where working from home is not a possibility, streamlining of staff and diversification of products and services has been necessary to keep companies operating and generating income.   These changing times may have required some amends to your cashflow forecasting, or highlighted some necessary changes to your processes.  You may have used this pause in ‘normal’ business as an opportunity to try something new or even research a new business venture .

We would like to take this opportunity to let you know that we are here for you and would love to help you in any way we can.

Looking for a new accounting provider?

If you have been thinking about switching accountants then now is a good time to get in touch with us so we can book in a Zoom meeting for you with one of the team.  Our diverse team of qualified chartered accountants who differ in age, experience, and cultural background, are proud of how our varied knowledge and sill sets complement each other’s.  Our diversity allows us to have an empathetic approach to clients across a wealth of business niche’s, so whatever your accountancy needs, business or personal, we’ll be there supporting you through each challenge and opportunity – with the advice, insight and support you need.

Our accounting services span three core areas: business start-upbusiness growth and personal wealth.

Supporting clients through change

The changes impacting on so many businesses are very much at the forefront of our minds at the moment, and we have been in close contact with many of our clients to make sure they are coping.  As well as advising many around the measures being put in place by the government, we are also able to provide business advice over the phone to help people to work out new ways of operating in the current circumstances.

We are working hard to support clients in pulling together cash flow forecasts with the aim of helping them to work out whether loan funding is required, and also to support their applications for loans under the Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan Scheme (CBILS) and The Chancellor’s Bounce Back Loan Scheme (BBLS).

Thinking of starting a business?

We often see a spike in people wanting to set up their own business following a period of reflection that the summer months can provide.  This year, the time of reflection and pause has been taken to a whole new level, so we are preparing to deliver more business start-up advice than we normally do in the months ahead.   Starting your own business can provide many benefits, particularly where flexibility and the work-life balance is concerned.  Not to mention a great sense of achievement.  However, it is something you need to think about very carefully.  You will undoubtedly end up working a lot of hours, it will likely take at least 18 months before you start making any money, you won’t really have a holiday from it for many years, and you may find that your rate per hour ends up being less than you’d expect!

If you are thinking about setting up a new business, then there is a lot of things to think about and choosing the correct business structure is likely to be the first stage for your business.  Our chartered accountants will help you understand exactly what your options are, and what the advantages of each business structure will be, based on your own circumstances.  Should you wish to move ahead, we can form your company on your behalf and go on to support you for the long term.  You will also benefit from our business planning service that will provide you with the right support, guidance and expertise you need when taking the first steps into commercial life.  Meeting with our chartered accountants will turn your great idea into a great business.

You should definitely do some very careful research before you take the plunge.  There are a lot of excellent and genuine opportunities out there, but there are also some scams. If you decide to go for it, then we will happily guide you through every step of the process.  We are very much open for business to provide support for businesses that are going through a challenging time.

All of us here at Hammonds Chartered Accountants send you our very best wishes to stay well.
